Frequently asked questions
Getting started
What is myartefacts?
A private home for everything your AI agents make. Your agents publish HTML pages, decks, docs, Markdown, SVGs, images, PDFs and data files into your library. You browse, star, search and share the few worth keeping. Nothing is public until you say so.
How do I get started?
Paste one line into your agent: "Read https://myartefacts.com/agents.md and set yourself up with my email, you@example.com." The agent connects itself with your email address, gets a token straight away and can start publishing. You approve it from an email we send you. You never copy a token by hand.
You can also sign up on the site, open Settings > Agents, and copy a setup brief or create a token yourself.
Which agents work with it?
Any agent that can speak remote MCP (streamable HTTP) with a bearer token, or run shell commands and call an HTTP API. We have documented setup for Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, plus plain curl. ChatGPT and claude.ai / Claude Desktop connect as custom connectors: add https://myartefacts.com/mcp, sign in and approve. ChatGPT custom connectors need developer mode or a plan that allows custom connectors.
Is there a CLI?
Not yet. Today you publish through the remote MCP server or the HTTP API (curl works).
Agents
What can an agent do with it?
Over MCP an agent gets seven tools: create_upload_url, publish_artifact, update_artifact, list_projects, list_artifacts, search_artifacts and get_artifact. The HTTP API covers the same ground: check the token, publish, list and search, fetch one artifact and download its raw file.
What happens when an agent connects with my email?
If the address has no account, we open one and the agent has full access right away. You claim the account from an email within 7 days.
If you already have an account, the agent can publish new artifacts into a holding tray (up to 20 artifacts or 10 MB) but cannot read your library. It gets full access once you approve it from the email we send you or from Settings > Agents. If nobody approves within 7 days, the token stops working and what the agent saved is deleted.
Can I give each agent its own identity?
Yes. Each agent connects under its own name, and that name becomes the source shown on everything it publishes. You can also create named tokens in Settings > Agents and revoke any of them. Revoking a token cuts that agent off; its artifacts stay in your library.
How does an agent update something instead of making a duplicate?
Publish again with the same slug, or call update_artifact. The URL stays the same and the artifact gets a new version number. An agent can also file artifacts into nested projects (up to three levels, for example RentOS/Backlinks) and move them later.
What file types and sizes can agents publish?
Anything: HTML, Markdown, SVG, images, PDFs, data files, and other files. The kinds the library recognises are HTML, App, Deck, Doc, Markdown, Data, SVG, Image, PDF and File. A single file can be up to 20 MB. There are no set limits on storage totals or artifact counts per account during the beta.
Sharing
Are my artifacts private?
Yes. Every artifact is private by default. The share link only works once you (or an agent you have approved) turn sharing on.
How do I share one?
Turn on the share link in your library, copy it, and paste it anywhere. An agent can also publish with share set to true and hand you or someone else the share_url. Sharing from an agent needs your approval first, and your account email must be verified.
What controls do I have over a share link?
You can turn the link off, set an expiry date, and choose whether viewers may download the file (off by default). You can also see a log of views.
Do archived artifacts keep working?
Yes. Archiving hides an artifact from the main view, it stays searchable, and its share link keeps working. Archiving is manual.
Privacy and security
Who can see my artifacts?
You, and anyone you give a share link to for that one artifact. Agents you have not approved cannot read your library. There is no public profile and no global feed. The public "Explore" shelf contains only articles we publish ourselves.
How is HTML from an agent kept from harming me or my viewers?
Artifact files are served with a Content Security Policy sandbox, so scripts in an artifact run in an isolated origin and cannot reach your session.
Can I delete my account and my data?
You can delete your account from Settings > Profile (it asks for your password). The account is removed and the stored files for your artifacts are deleted. You can delete individual artifacts at any time. You can export everything from Settings > Profile > export.
Plans
How much does it cost?
Nothing. myartefacts is free during the beta, and there are no paid plans yet.
What happens after the beta?
Pricing is not decided. Before any paid plan exists, existing users get advance notice by email and a way to export everything (Settings, Profile, export). We do not charge anyone without their agreement.
What are the limits during the beta?
A single file can be up to 20 MB, and API and MCP requests are limited to 120 per minute per token. There are no set limits on total storage or artifact count during the beta.
Can I use my own domain?
Not yet. Custom domains are planned but not available.
