Invite a friend to myartefacts

Every library on myartefacts belongs to one person. Inviting a friend does not let them into yours: it gives them one email from you, a signed link, and a private library of their own, ready for their agents in about a minute.

Send the invite

  1. Open Settings, then Invite a friend, at https://myartefacts.com/settings/invites. The same page is one click away from Invite a friend at the foot of the rail in your library.
  2. Type your friend’s email address and press Send invite.
  3. A toast confirms “Invite sent to” their address, the pencil circles the drawing at the top of the page, and the invite joins your list below it.

The email goes out straight away, and the invite only counts as sent once it has. If the mail server is having a bad moment you are told plainly, “The email did not go out. Try again in a moment”, rather than left wondering.

A few rules keep the form honest. You cannot invite your own address, or someone who already has an account (“They already have a myartefacts account.”). You can send up to 20 new invites a day, so the form can never be used to mail strangers in bulk. Inviting the same address again simply sends their invite again.

Until you have invited anyone, your library also shows a one-time note, “Know someone buried in agent output? Give them a library of their own.”, with an Invite button. It goes for good once you invite someone or close it.

one email open 14 days you your friend
One email, a link open for fourteen days, and a library of their own. The two never touch: nothing in yours is visible from theirs.

What your friend receives

One email, with the subject “Your name invited you to myartefacts”. It says that you keep everything your AI agents make in one private library and think they should have one too, shows your email address so they know it is really you, and carries a single button: Accept the invite. At the bottom it tells them what to do if they do not know you: ignore it, because no account is made unless they accept.

The button opens a page that greets them by your name. Their address is already filled in, marked as confirmed by the link, so there is no second email to verify it: the link could only have reached that inbox. They choose a name and a password, press Accept and open my library, and land in their library with the toast “Your library is ready.”

If they would rather use a different address, Use another address takes them to the ordinary sign-up. And if they sign up some other way with the address you invited, the invite still counts as accepted.

The link: signed, and open for 14 days

The link in the email is signed, so it cannot be edited to open someone else’s invite. It stays open for 14 days. Sending the invite again reopens the very same link for another 14 days, so the email already in their inbox starts working again rather than being replaced. You can resend 15 minutes after the last send; until then the button reads “Resend in” and the minutes left.

Your list shows every invite you have sent, newest first, with a line such as 3 invites, two joined above it. Each one is in one of three states:

StateWhat the list saysWhat you can do
WaitingWhen you invited them, and the date the link is open untilResend or Withdraw
ExpiredThe date the link closedResend, which reopens it for 14 days
JoinedTheir name, their address and when they joinedNothing: the invite stays on your list

Withdraw takes an invite back. Its link stops working at once, and anyone who opens it reads “This invite was withdrawn”, with a way to open a library themselves. An expired link says so too, and suggests they ask you to send it again.

What you see, and what you never see

When your friend joins, you get an email: “Their name joined myartefacts”, with a button to invite someone else. That is the whole of it. The email says it plainly: what they keep there stays private to them, as yours does to you. You can see that they joined, and nothing in their library.

Two libraries do not share anything by being linked through an invite. When you want to show each other something, send a share link: it works for anyone, member or not, and you can watch it being opened.

Their first minute: connect an agent

A new library starts empty and fills as soon as an agent publishes into it. Your friend has three easy ways in:

Because the invite already confirmed their address, they skip the claim step that an account opened by an agent has to pass before it may share. If a day goes by and no agent is connected, they get a single email, “Set up myartefacts with your agent”, pointing at their Agents settings. If an agent is already in, that email is never sent.

Then the library does what it did for you. Their agents publish, the work arrives on today’s sheet, and they keep the few worth keeping.

Give your agents a home

Everything they make lands in one private library: every page, deck and doc, each at its own link.
